Welcome to the Art Department |

|
The Art department is bright and spacious with
five classrooms, a pottery room, a computing suite and a senior students
project room. The department offers a variety of courses from Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 Art and Design, Higher Art and Design and Advanced Higher Art and Design Enquiry in the senior school. The department has been very successful with its entries to the Schuh competition, having produced the many prize winners over the years. Maxine McIver, representing The James Young High School was overall winner in
2003 and Amy Duffy overall winner in 2005. Maxine now studies at the Heriot Watt University School of Textiles and Design in Galashiels. The department has also worked in conjunction with the Edinburgh College of Art to produce a fashion show exhibiting some pupil work. |
