The Design and Technology
department is bright and spacious with three classrooms and three workshop
areas. The department offers a variety of
courses in both Product Design and Graphic Communication. The department has been tastefully
styled and has many examples of pupils work on display.
First and Second Year Pupils are introduced to product design
and will learn about the basic design, modelling and presentation skills
necessary to progress on to Standard Grade in the two subjects offered by the
department in S3/S4. Third and Fourth Year Standard Grade Craft and Design aims to
develop the creative, practical and organisational skills we all possess. Pupils will learn about product design and are encouraged to design their own
products. Standard Grade Graphic Communication introduces pupils to a range of
sketching, drawing and CAD skills which can be used to complete a range of
tasks. Fifth and Sixth Year A variety of courses are offered at a range
of levels in the senior school: Higher Product Design Higher Graphic Communication Advanced Higher Product Design
