The
Welcome to the English Department
The English department offers a wide
range of
courses for all year groups. The focus is very much towards enriching the
experience of students through the study of language and literature.
The students study a wide variety of texts and
develop their own writing.
The department often invites groups into school to allow the students to participate in workshops or see plays. Trips to the theatre are often undertaken to enrich the school experience.
The department has taken part in a production of
Macbeth with the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh.
Each year the department supports World Book Day and encourages the pupils and staff to take part in a variety of events. The challenge this year was to try to get 'Around the World in 80 Books'.
